18 Aug 10 Sorry But There Will Be No Android 2.2 for Droid Incredible Today

Droid Incredible A lot of the Android devices have supposedly gotten their Android 2.2 (FroYo) update by now but it seems that Verizon’s Droid Incredible will not be one of them. This was revealed through a Twitter account where Big Red said “We currently do not have information for the Incredible update at this time and is not being sent out today.”

So if you own a Droid Incredible, sorry but you have to wait a bit for now.

The final version of the Adobe Flash Player for the Google Nexus One is now out. This is the Adobe Flash Player 10.1 was made to work with the Android 2.2 which now allows Google Nexus One users to HTC Outs Google Nexus One Accessories.

This is just the first step in Adobe’s long-reaching mobile Flash strategy, as the company is trying to deliver all the content of the web to as many smartphones as possible including Android, BlackBerry, Palm, and Windows Phone.

Thanks to a new update, Google Voice now allows faster dialing. The app has been updated and now includes features like “direct access numbers”. This means users can now assign numbers for each person they frequently call, negating the need to forward the number to Google’s servers.

This update is only available for Google users in the U.S.

55% Android Users are On Android 2.1Here is an update for the many Android followers. Google has bared that about 55% of Android users are using the Android 2.1 or Éclair. While it is not really surprising considering that there are lot of Android-based handsets in the market like the Motorola Droid X and Samsung Galaxy S.

Android 1.6 is the second-most used version with 22.1% and 18.9% of users are still suffering with 1.5, or Cupcake. Nexus One users, and those who have rooted their handsets to install custom ROMs, are already rocking Android 2.2 but that’s only 3.3% of users.

Vodafone Nexus One For the people who may have purchased the Google Nexus One from Vodafone, your Froyo (Android 2.2) update will be available starting next week. Of course this will be an incremental release so Vodafone customers may want to be patient until at least the next couple of weeks.

Some note though. The update will not include things like Amazon MP3 store and Google Goggles don’t come included in the new ROM.

With Adobe FlashTime, video calling is now possible through Android-powered devices. The new Android app leverages Adobe Flash to enable Nexus One users to do two-way video chat.

Adobe is trying to get around this by offering cool content on the other major mobile platforms. Android 2.2, or Froyo, will offer full Adobe Flash support and this is supposed to be an experience that isn’t compromised, particularly on devices like the Motorola Droid X.
