08 Jul 10 AMOLED Shortages Continue to Pile Up
Android handsets including the Google Nexus One, may experience some problems soon, especially the new ones expected to hit the market. Apparently the AMOLED production from Samsung and LG continue to be a problem, something that has yet to be resolved.
With over 160,000 handsets being activated a day, the point where AMOLED displays start to become scarce may whittle down those numbers. There’s a big demand for these AMOLED screens though but only Samsung and LG Electronics can supply these types of screens in high numbers.
25 Jun 10 HTC Running Low on AMOLED Displays, May Use SLCD
HTC seems to be having problem managing the demand for their HTC handsets and one key problem is that of running low on AMOLED displays. Though no specific model has been identified yet, HTC is taking no chances and rumors have it that some units may even make use of Sony’s Super TFT LCD.
So if you are lucky enough to be among the fortunate buyers to land an HTC phone with the SLCD, then that would be great. However it would be best to see if there would be a difference since quality will still be the most important aspect in the end.
14 Jun 10 Samsung Galaxy Tab to Get Android Froyo
While the Samsung Galaxy Tablet has not releases official specs just yet, it seems that one rumor running around is that it will be running on Android Froyo. Other leaked information include an expandable storage slot of up to 32GB through a common microSD card slot.
Other specs of the Samsung Galaxy Tab include a super AMOLED screen, a 4000 mAh battery and a total weight equal to 370 grams. It will also come with a high resolution TFT screen and a 3.5mm jack. That is it for now and for sure we have missed other specs which should come out soon.

17 Jan 10 Google Nexus One Performs Better Under Sunlight
A lot of phones have been compared with the Google Nexus One and this time, it is the Motorola Droid. The comparison calls for comparing AMOLED with LCD screens. After testing both mobile phones under sunlight, AMOLED stood out as the better performing screen over LCD. The full video is available for viewing below.
