31 Aug 10 Huawei Unveiling New Android 2.2 Device
A new device running on Android 2.2 is set to come out, a product of the close collaboration of Huawei and Google. The high-end device will be unveiled this Thursday, a new handset that shies Google away from the controversial Google Nexus One.
No clear view of the actual technical details have been bared for now other than the fact that it will run on Android 2.2 FroYo. Let us just wait for Thursday to see the official specs of this one and hopefully will be something worthy for both Huawei and Google.

18 Aug 10 Sorry But There Will Be No Android 2.2 for Droid Incredible Today
A lot of the Android devices have supposedly gotten their Android 2.2 (FroYo) update by now but it seems that Verizon’s Droid Incredible will not be one of them. This was revealed through a Twitter account where Big Red said “We currently do not have information for the Incredible update at this time and is not being sent out today.”
So if you own a Droid Incredible, sorry but you have to wait a bit for now.

10 Aug 10 HTC Desire Receiving FroYo Update Very Soon
The HTC Desire from Vodafone will finally receive the much awaited FroYo update in the next 7 to 10 days. This comes in the light of reports that Vodafone recently pushed their Vodafone 360 update which filled the devices with 360-branded apps that many are unsatisfied with.
With the new Android 2.2 update, those unwanted 360 apps will be eliminated. Vodafone is shooting for their announced time frame, that is if they can get the final testing done in time.

The Google Nexus One is back but with a catch. The controversial Google Nexus One which officially ran out some weeks ago is back but now as a new developer phone. The said Nexus One will actually succeed the Google Ion and will ship with the Android 2.1 OS although you can immediately upgrade to Android 2.2 once you turn it on.
The offers is through T-Mobile only, has no root access and the bootloader is said to be locked as well.

30 Jul 10 European HTC Desire Receiving OTA Update This Weekend
The unlocked HTC Desire will finally be getting the Android 2.2 update this weekend via OTA. The new update is said to come with features that concern 720p video recording, iTunes syncing, the AppShare widget and a Smart CallerID.
The said OTA update will not delete any existing data.

The Samsung Galaxy S will finally get an Android 2.2 (FroYo) update of its own soon, now with a more specific date. According to Samsung UK’s Twitter page, the update will come out this September which hopefully will stick.

HTC will start to roll out Froyo for more HTC handsets after HTC Benelux director Mark Moons shared via Twitter that the Android 2.2 will be soon out for the HTC Desire. After the HTC Desire, a Froyo update will also land for the HTC Wildfire and the HTC Legend, three new devices pegged to get the much covered Froyo.
This is the latest Froyo rumor to hit and compared to the latest Froyo rumor to hit three Verizon devices, should we be surprised?

19 Jul 10 HTC Droid Incredible Update Out by August
The much awaited Android 2.2 Froyo update for the Droid Incredible will be out by the end of this month at the earliest or by August at the latest.
This new update will unlock 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity in your device, offering other features such as 3G Mobile Hot Spot and 720p video recording among others.

While we all know that not all people have already gotten the Android 2.2 Froyo update, HTC has bared that they intend to complete the rollout by Christmas. Depending on your HTC handset unit, the updated OS has become available at some point but sadly not all have had their new Android 2.2 OS.
HTC has stated that company would be done with the FroYo updates before Christmas, which gives the Taiwanese company a good five months to get everything done.

It seems that the Android 2.2 FRF83 update is already available and some Nexus One phones may be getting it as well via OTA. Though there is a 1.78MB zip file floating around that seems to be corrupt, the real OTA version has already been secured by some folks. Have you gotten yours?
