A new device running on Android 2.2 is set to come out, a product of the close collaboration of Huawei and Google. The high-end device will be unveiled this Thursday, a new handset that shies Google away from the controversial Google Nexus One.
No clear view of the actual technical details have been bared for now other than the fact that it will run on Android 2.2 FroYo. Let us just wait for Thursday to see the official specs of this one and hopefully will be something worthy for both Huawei and Google.

The latest protagonists for patent rights presents two biggies. These are Oracle and Google. The former has sued the latter for patent infringements involving the use of Java for the Android OS.
Oracle is claiming that Google infringed on Sun’s patents and trademarks, including the use of code and documentation. The claim, which also seeks monetary damages, has asked the court to stop Google from further infringement.
If you still haven’t heard, Google is supposed to hold a special mobile event today. And apparently the waiting is over and among the new enhancements coming the way of Android users would be the voice actions feature.
Voice Actions are a series of spoken commands that, literally, let you control your phone. However, these new features will only work with the Android 2.2 (FroYo). So at least for now, this only covers the HTC EVO 4G, original Motorola Droid, the Droid 2, and the Nexus One.

Google is no longer stocking the disappointing Google Nexus One. This was learned after Google tried to employ a tactic where the failed Nexus One would only be made available from them. Apparently it didn’t work.
The Google Nexus One will still be available at Vodafone UK and KI of Korea. But the handset will no longer be available in North America signaling in what may perhaps be the end of the overhyped Google Nexus One.
If you are among the avid downloaders off apps from the Android Market, be warned. SMobile Systems of Ohio has bared that two-thirds of the Android apps are suspicious and fail to consider Android security mechanisms.
And of course, Google is denying it. According to them, developers must go through billing background checks to confirm their real identities and that apps found to be malicious are disabled. Regardless, be cautious on the next app you decide to download.

While everyone is still at odds on why Google scrapped most of the sales schemes for the Nexus One, it seems that it was all a business-related issue. Except for Vodafone, it seems the new business model concerning the Google Nexus One was made way before we even got the announcement that Google was halting sales for the Nexus One.
Depending on how you look at it, it looks like the new approach has raised some eyebrows. Then again, if the move was made on a business standpoint, perhaps Google may eventually benefit from it…if it works!

Everyone knows by now that Google has shut down its online shop and has thus relegated getting the Google Nexus One through new retailers. As far as France is concerned, the Google Nexus One is now available through SFR, a French provider from the Vodafone Group.
SFR will be offering the Google Nexus One for 129 EUROS which includes a 12 month contract. It will also be available for 419 EUROS on a pay as you go offer. The latter is really a good deal as this Nexus One is sim-free and has no SFR customization and no extra apps.
