It seems that HTC may be unveiling a new device soon after the HTC Merge was spotted in the Verizon inventory system. It makes use of the “ADR6325” reference code which is the same number used by the Verizon inventory system for the Droid Incredible.
While nothing definite has been bared, this may actually be the updated Incredible with one of the new Sony Super LCD displays. Speculation have it that this is a completely new Android smartphone and may carry a screen around 5 inches or so.
HTC continues to spread like crazy, aiming to cover a larger area of scope for consumers to use their mobile phones. This time, they are invading China, offering new branded handsets for the Chinese community.
China users will be able to purchase the HTC Desire, HTC Wildfire, HTC Tianxi, and the HTC Tianyi. The HTC Tianxi looks like an evolved HTC HD2 and the HTC Tianyi looks like every popular HTC device morphed into one. HTC will also partner with China Mobile to make sure that they cover the China market more efficiently.

Ok folks, listen up. HTC will not be releasing a tablet. There will be no competitor to the iPad contrary to rumors that HTC is currently in the midst of developing their own tablet to compete against Apple’s popular PC tablet.
Rather, HTC is concentrating on something else. And that “something” has yet to be named since they are studying the market for other needs. This means that rather than enter a congested market, HTC wants to be a pioneer on something else.
Android handsets including the Google Nexus One, may experience some problems soon, especially the new ones expected to hit the market. Apparently the AMOLED production from Samsung and LG continue to be a problem, something that has yet to be resolved.
With over 160,000 handsets being activated a day, the point where AMOLED displays start to become scarce may whittle down those numbers. There’s a big demand for these AMOLED screens though but only Samsung and LG Electronics can supply these types of screens in high numbers.
HTC may yet come out with a new handset, one bearing the Android 3.0 OS. This is said to be the HTC Ace which looks closely similar to the HTC Incredible.
Among the features of this rumored handset include a 4.3” AMOLED display, an 8MP camera with flash and of course the Android 3.0 OS. It will also come with a dual core Snapdragon CPU.

While we all know that not all people have already gotten the Android 2.2 Froyo update, HTC has bared that they intend to complete the rollout by Christmas. Depending on your HTC handset unit, the updated OS has become available at some point but sadly not all have had their new Android 2.2 OS.
HTC has stated that company would be done with the FroYo updates before Christmas, which gives the Taiwanese company a good five months to get everything done.

HTC seems to be having problem managing the demand for their HTC handsets and one key problem is that of running low on AMOLED displays. Though no specific model has been identified yet, HTC is taking no chances and rumors have it that some units may even make use of Sony’s Super TFT LCD.
So if you are lucky enough to be among the fortunate buyers to land an HTC phone with the SLCD, then that would be great. However it would be best to see if there would be a difference since quality will still be the most important aspect in the end.
